Today, December 1, 2008, is the 20th anniversary of World AIDS DAY. This year’s theme is “Lead – Empower – Deliver”. AIDS has killed over 20 million people and counting over a 27 year span. As of 2007, 33 million people, worldwide, live with HIV. Last year alone, 2 million people’s lives were claimed as a result of the disease. Almost 300,000 of those were children.

Becoming aware through educating ourselves of what the disease is represents the first step we must all take in fighting against the epidemic.

…Our voices can make a difference.”
Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise.
